Seeds is a small app made by two people. This page says plainly what happens to what you put in it.
If you ask for a beta invite, we get your email address and nothing else. It's used to email you about Seeds and for no other purpose. The form is handled by Netlify, which stores the submissions for us. Ask and we'll delete yours.
Your account is an email address and a password, plus a display name and a profile picture if you set them. Everything you gather (notes, recordings, photos, files, links, and anything the app writes about them) is stored in a Postgres database and a private file store, both run by Supabase.
Your seeds are yours. Other people can see a seed only if it's planted in a garden you invited them to. That's enforced by the database itself rather than by the app being careful, which means a bug in the app can't quietly expose someone else's seeds.
Seeds sends some of your content to OpenAI to do four things: turn a recording into text, describe a photo or a document so you can find it later, suggest a name for a seed, and hold a conversation with you about one. OpenAI processes it and returns a result. As of the date above, OpenAI's API terms say they don't train their models on data sent through it.
If you'd rather this didn't happen to something in particular, don't record it and don't upload it. There is currently no per-seed switch for turning the AI off, and that's an honest limitation rather than a policy.
If you allow them, the app stores a push token so it can tell you when someone adds to a shared garden, when you're invited to one, and occasionally that a few seeds are waiting in your Pouch. Turn them off in your phone's settings and the token stops being used.
No advertising, no analytics tracking you across other apps or sites, no selling anything to anyone. Nobody has bought a piece of this and nobody is being sold your ideas.
Deleting a seed in the app deletes it and everything added to it. To delete your whole account and everything in it, email brandon@harmonic-studios.com and it'll be done by hand, since the app doesn't have a self-serve button for it yet.
